205: Educational Summer Activity Series: Part 4: Build a Business in 10 Days, Day 6-10

Kid Entrepreneur Project that allows their imagination to go beyond!

 

 

(Day 1-2) Brainstorm Ideas for a Problem they can Solve

(Day 3-5) Do Market Research

(Day 6-7) Create a Business

• Name (Come up with a Few & Have the family Vote!)

• What does their business do & what problem will it solve?

• List of Products (Keep it Simple: 1-3)

• Would their business be brick & mortar or online?

• Who is their target market? (ages, boys, girls, gamers, athletes, etc)

(Day 8-9) Let's Talk Money

• Cost to Start?

• Cost of Products?

• How many product/ services do you need to sell to profit?

• How long would that take?

• How & Where will you sell it?

(Day 10) Can they start this now?

• Is this a business they can start now?

• YES: put it into motion with real dates & goals

• NO: What would be a better timeframe?

• What do they need to do to start it up?

• Funding

• More research

• Developing the product

5. Making a Product/ Food to Sell that they love

9. community, church, friends

10. (Day 3-5) Do Market Research

11. Are there anyone that does this?

12. What do they charge?

13. Similarities of the other Business to their Business

14. Differences of the other Business to their Business

203: Educational Summer Activity Series: Part 3: Restaurant Nights

Want a night off from dinner duty? Have the kids do it by creating Restaurant Nights!

 

1. Pick a theme/ name for the Restaurant

2. Have them Prep & Create Ambiance : Menu, Decor, uniform, music, etc

3. Give every kid a role & responsibilities: Host, Server, Cook

4. Pick a date & enjoy the experience

This Activity covers: Science, Math, Engineering, Arts/Crafts

 

1. Raw Eggs

2. Recycled materials

3. Connectors (tape, glue, string, stapler, etc)

Build Egg Protector:

Talk about how "...spread out the force over time and redirect the impact of the force so that the egg itself does not directly hit the ground."

Test out your Egg protectors: Throw off balcony, out second story window, off a ladder or throw up into the air & back down

 

Open your container and see if your egg protector worked!
