157: Curriculum Overwhelm: What Happens when you buy too many books & resources.

You have your CORE subjects & Curriculum, but one of following creeps in:

1. Doubt: Am I doing Enough for my Kids? = I need more

2. Comparison: I saw her kids were so successful with that curriculum = maybe I'll try it too

3. Collector: It worked for my older kid, so I'll Keep it for my younger kid = holding on to too many books not sure

 

Solution

1. Do an Assessment to Check kid's progress- Adjust with what you have. If need more, then look into other options

2. Does your Current Curriculum work with your kid's learning style- go back to #1

3. Only hold on if you know for SURE you will use it. If your kid's have very different Learning Styles- resell it & find a curriculum that'll work for your younger

2. You Start & Quit too early. Hit a few speed bumps or roadblocks & that discourages you. You expected to be further along. You're in comparison mode

   1. Have support. Team members, entrepreneur friends, don't be a solo-preneur, join a networking group

   2. Use those speed bumps/ roadblocks as learning opportunities

   3. Are you working on YOU?

3. You Start & get comfortable in Cruise Control. your biz is going good, but not GROWING

   1. Is it time to leverage & build a team?

   2. Build your leadership through masterminds

   3. Evaluate your business & focus on one part that can grow

155: Don’t expect your Kids to Take Leaps of Faith, if you Don’t do it yourself.

Have you Encouraged your kids to try a new sport, activity, class? Do you say, "put yourself out there", but they don't want to? Have you told your kids to "try again" when it doesn't work out but they rather give up?

Maybe it's not them, it's YOU?

 

When was the last time you did that for yourself?

1. try a new sport, activity, class

2. Learn something new, go back to school

3. Start a business?

4. Try again when it doesn't work out?

 

You need to be the example for your kids, walk alongside them, show them you go through the same things.

 

What is something you wanted to try or do & never took the leap of faith? Can you take a Step today towards it?
